Sorry, but you can never convince me (entirely anyways) that humans are nothing more than meat robots. Not only is it arrogant to claim such a thing its dehumanizing. Human experience is not something to be cured with a drug but (I knew that atheists were nothing more than Big Pharma shills) something we should embrace and build upon to utilize the solutions already here on Earth.
Theres giant dollar signs hanging above the movement that advocates a technological paradise where humans are rendered obsolete. Some mentally underdeveloped individuals so wish their worldview could become a reality by getting rid of all the complexities of human experience and replacing it with robots. Oh, how these overgrown teenagers wish they could make illusions, irrationality, strange beliefs disappear! Its simply too much for the soulless worldview of hyper atheists and materialists the world over.

Does intelligent only mean those individuals who are good at science/math and everyone else is useless? We may dream of robots doing all the work for us, but it should not be forgotten the long history of technologi

All "my life" I've known people who honestly believe what they do (diet, environmental exposure) have no affect on their health. Its true that there are people who seem to survive inspite of having all the risk factors and there are people who become ill despite having none. I don't necessarily believe in the "magic bullet" or that you can protect yourself against all illness by following a healthy lifestyle. The educated members of alternative health community know that already. Its more about realizing that the environment as well as products we consume on daily basis are full of toxins that no one can escape. Its about knowing that we don't want to increase our chances of becoming ill. Knowing that health is always connected to the rest of the world around us and our choices of food (or anything else for that matter) affect the rest of the world whether it be socially, economically, or personally.
If voluntarily reproducing is "not a lifestyle choice" then does that mean the myriad of other things people do are not lifestyle choices either? Hobbies, pets, driving sports car, career, living conditions, playing computer games, taking recreational drugs, taking care of ailing parents, traveling could all be considered "not a lifestyle choice".
Hey, breeder cows the law can work against you as much as it can work for you. Thanks for keeping women in the dark ages by expecting an employer to view women as nothing more than potential breeding stock that will be whining for accommodations. Though it should be funny to watch the resultant mommy war... Well, theres certainly nothing new about a so-called environmentalist turning into a corporate shill. Actually it happens across many areas of life where someone use to support a movement or cause then suddenly turns against it. Being a debunker/corporate shill/media naysayer will always get more publicity and money rather than supporting a fringe group that sees the real truth.
Such is the case with a certain repentant environmentalist who once was against GMOs and now claims to have seen the "light of science". I suppose he realized that Biotech companies pay far more to their supporters than environmental organizations. So once starting the anti-GM movement now he's turned the other cheek to whore out for the biotechnology industries claiming that concerns over GMOs are nothing more than "anti-science" hysteria. Actually, people are not against science or even biotechnology. I certainly am not. I admit that biotechnology could play a useful role in medical field, but the way its used in food like an uncontrolled science experiment is not acceptable. The version of science promoted by corporate whores is what you call "corporate science" or watered-down science that comes up with a conclusion before the experiment has even been done. Now that tarnishes the good name of science. I'm not against a new scientific technology just for the sake of it being new either. GMOs are a commercial product and so opponents of GMOs are against a commercial product, not a "new technology". People have observed negative affects of GMOs and hold real concerns about this new product. If the GM lobby believed in its mighty science then it would allow independent scientists to conduct research into GMOs before allowing them on the market. |
